Artist's Biography

Born in Winnipeg in 1929, the artist grew up in Montreal where she studied commercial art and worked in the art departments of McDonald Studios, James A. Ogilvy’s and Brigden’s Ltd.

In the 1960’s, after her family had grown more independent, she returned to work as a freelance fashion artist, and to school at Champlain C.E.G.E.P. and The Montreal Museum School to study fine art

After moving to London in 1974, she graduated from the Special Art Program at H.B. Beal Tech. Since 1979 she has maintained a downtown studio in London, showing her work regularly in Toronto and throughout southwestern Ontario. She taught many Continuing Education workshops, including weekly classes at the London Regional Art Gallery, Fanshawe College, H.B. Beal Tech. And for a number of years at the Ingersoll Creative Arts Center.

Since 1987, she has been an elected member of the Ontario Society of Artists and of the Canadian Society of Painters in Watercolour, in whose exhibitions she has received a number of awards.

The artist gratefully acknowledges the support of the Ontario Arts Council for granting Exhibition Assistance in 1982, 1985, 1987, 1988, 1992, 1995, 2000, 2001, 2003, 2004 and 2005.
