Artist's Biography
I began my education very far from art, taking a master’s degree in political science and economics. Some years later I began to move closer, taking a master’s degree in English language and literature. My book "The King and the Flea and Other Folk Tales" (Mosaic Press) appeared in 1990 illustrated by Aba Bayefsky, and in 1994 my book of poems, "A Rage of Poppies" (Wolsak and Wynn) for which I painted the cover.

Painting was a dream I never thought possible but then, late in life, I actually began to study and to work. Soon it became clear to me that this was the world in which I wanted to live. Painting has become a way of seeing nature as I did in childhood, new and alive, and at the same time away of bringing to my vision all the richness of life’s experience.
