Artist's Biography

Puchala was raised in Montreal and Sudbury. For 11 years she ran her own business as a self-taught commercial artist in Sudbury before moving to Toronto in 1992 to pursue formal art training at the Ontario College of Art. She earned an honours degree in Drawing and Painting and was the recipient of several prestigious awards throughout her studies, including the W.O. Forsythe Scholarship and the Devona Paquette Memorial Scholarship in 1995. From 2001 to 2005 she worked as a scenic painter for the National Ballet of Canada.

Her artistic output has been prodigious. Over the past 10 years she has mounted five solo exhibitions at the Rebecca Gallery in Toronto, as well as having participated in numerous juried exhibits throughout Southern Ontario. She has shown her work at Mercer Union, John B. Aird and OCA Galleries, Gallery 1313, and the Art Galleries of Mississauga, Peel and Woodstock. Her work is in the collections of Pratt & Whitney Canada, Egon Zehnder, IPSOS Reid Group and Response Innovations.
