Seascapes

I disegni dai quali sono tratti i dipinti e le tempere esposti in questa mostra, fanno parte di una nutrita serie che ho realizzato durante l’anno accademico 2004-5 all’accademia dell’arte di Carrara durante il corso di scuola di nudo. Durante la settimana si alternavano tre modelle, e si stupivano alquanto nel vedersi ritratte da me in queste forme giunoniche: loro erano davvero molto magre.

Figuriamoci cosa avrebbero pensato se avessero sospettato che io me le immaginavo con la coda!  

The paintings on exhibition are based on sketches I made during a figurative drawing class at the Carrara Art Academy in 2004-2005. Every week 3 different female models alternated, and they were always surprised to see the huge proportions they assumed in my drawings - they were all in reality quite thin! How surprised they’d have been if they’d known I was really imagining them with a tail!
