Artist's Statement
In his first solo exhibition, Lloyd Walton takes us on a journey of cinematic compositions linking history, culture and nature. Painting in acrylic and oil Walton journeys from Cape Spear, Newfoundland to Albert Bay, British Columbia directing the viewer to vestiges of the past, both abandoned and honoured, in intense, vivid colour. Drawing from his experience as a film maker, Walton gently guides the eye across, around and into the image eliciting its narrative.

Graduating from the Ontario College of Art in Animation before moving into film, Walton, filmed and directed wildlife film for the Ontario Provincial Parks Department. Throughout his career in film, he has received numerous national and international awards. He currently lives and paints from his home studio in Muskoka.
